In addition to writing, Kaela works for WSU’s Community Engagement Institute crafting communication solutions for non-profits and community organizations. She is passionate about empowering all people–but especially women–to heal from trauma, practice self-compassion, and unapologetically live their lives.

In her spare time, she plays guitar, works on her first novel and a collection of poetry and short stories, and tries to remember to water her plants. She lives in Wichita with her daughter, her boyfriend, and their dogs, Harley and Luma.

She currently writes for We’re All Her, The Kansas Prevention Collaborative, and on her own blog at
